International Tiger Day 2026: Protecting the Roar of the Wild

International Tiger Day is observed every year on 29 July to raise awareness about tiger conservation and the urgent need to protect one of the world's most iconic and endangered species. The day was established in 2010 during the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit, where countries committed to doubling the global tiger population through coordinated conservation efforts.

India is home to the largest wild tiger population in the world, accounting for nearly 75% of the global tiger population.
