'Our Future Is at Stake': Jharkhand Aspirants Continue Massive Protest

The ongoing protest by JPSC and JSSC aspirants in Jharkhand has become one of the state's largest youth movements, with students continuing demonstrations in Ranchi over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. The agitation, which began in late July, has now entered a more intense phase with hunger strikes, Tiranga marches, and round-the-clock protests.

According to reports, thousands of students gathered in Ranchi in recent days despite heavy rain, while several aspirants have been participating in an indefinite hunger strike. Protesters are demanding the cancellation of the disputed examination, a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities, strict action against those responsible, and reforms to ensure transparent recruitment in future exams. Student organisations say repeated controversies and delays have affected the careers of a large number of candidates.

The protest has also received support from various student groups and civil society organisations. In response to the growing unrest, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the government would take appropriate action, and a five-member student delegation is expected to hold talks with the Chief Minister to discuss the demands and possible solutions.

The movement reflects a broader crisis of trust in public recruitment systems. As negotiations continue, students insist that the protest will not end until concrete steps are taken to restore transparency, accountability, and confidence in Jharkhand's examination process.
