52 viewsBharti Airtel has announced a ₹50 increase in its postpaid tariffs, with the revised plans coming into effect from October 8, 2026. Along with the price increase, Airtel is adding a new benefit aimed at customers who travel abroad.
Under the new plans, customers will get one free international roaming trip every year. The complimentary five-day roaming pack includes 5GB data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS. Customers can activate the benefit when they actually travel rather than immediately after subscribing. On family plans, each eligible SIM gets the benefit separately.
The revised postpaid lineup starts at ₹499 for an individual connection. Family plans start at ₹749 for two SIMs and go up to ₹1,799 for five SIMs. Depending on the plan, customers also receive unlimited data and calling, spam/fraud protection and entertainment or cloud-storage subscriptions.
For existing postpaid users, the change means the higher pricing will matter when they move to the revamped plans. Reports citing company sources say existing subscribers will be shifted to the nearest higher plan within a month.
The big question: Is the ₹50 hike worth it? For people who travel internationally, the free annual roaming benefit could add significant value. For customers who rarely travel abroad, however, the price increase may be more noticeable than the new benefit.
