IAF Air Force Day 2026

India is observing Air Force Day on October 8, 2026, marking the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The IAF was established on October 8, 1932, and the annual occasion recognises the service and contribution of its air warriors.

This year’s theme is “Indian Air Force – Infallible, Impervious and Precise,” highlighting the force’s focus on operational readiness, resilience and precision. The celebrations include ceremonial events and aerial displays, with the main parade and flypast taking place at Hindon Air Force Station.

The occasion also comes as the IAF continues to participate in major exercises and modernisation efforts. Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026, being conducted at Jodhpur, brings together the IAF and air forces from friendly countries for joint training and greater interoperability. The IAF has also been testing new technologies, including drones and other advanced systems, as part of its operational preparedness.

The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team remains one of the highlights associated with IAF air displays, showcasing coordinated flying and precision. The IAF's motto, “Nabhah Sparsham Diptam” — “Touch the Sky with Glory,” reflects the spirit of the force. On Air Force Day, national leaders have also extended greetings to air warriors, veterans and their families.

Air Force Day 2026 is therefore not only a celebration of India’s air power, but also a reminder of the training, technology and personnel behind the country’s air-defence capabilities.
